•EMR or EMT-A EMT-P in good standing with the
Alberta College of Paramedics.
•Current CPR Level C
•Current ITLS
•NFPA 1006 or Equivalent
•Alberta Mine Surface Mine Rescue Certification.

The University of the Sciences is seeking a 12 month,full-time physician assistant faculty person who will serve as the Clinical Coordinator of a developing Masters-granting Physician Assistant Studies Program.
The successful candidate will have primary
responsibility of recruiting, developing and maintaining clinical placement sites for second year/clinical year students in medical care across the lifespan including family practice; internal medicine including inpatient
and outpatient; surgery including OR, pre-op and post-op; emergency medicine; women's health including gynecology, obstetrics and neonatal care; pediatrics;geriatrics; and behavioral and mental health.

Qualifications:
•Possess minimum of a Master's degree
from an accredited PA program, be NCCPA certified,have or be eligible for current licensure in Pennsylvania, and have a minimum of two years experience as a
physician assistant in clinical setting.
•Teaching and administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities: Key Functions include:
* Develop and maintain clinical year rotation specific syllabi,
* Select and orient medical preceptors who will supervise students in clinical rotation sites,
* Supervise clinical experiences ensuring that students have appropriate learning experiences, including participation in the
medical team
* Maintain contracts and certificates of
liability with placement sites
* Conduct ongoing evaluation of clinical sites and preceptors, including regular site visits
* Conduct and document clinical year
student evaluations, progress and remediation, including feedback from preceptors
* Maintain student performance record/evaluations
* Conduct academic advising and counseling of students .
* Participate in all aspects of the ongoing development of the professional curriculum
*Continue part-time clinical work to remain
current in clinical area of expertise.

Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physician by performing the following duties.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: 

Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.

Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.

Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.

Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.

Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.
Other duties may be assigned.
Education and experience:Graduate, AMA acredited program and two years Physician Assistant experience in a relevant clinical area preferred, e.g., Reconstructive Surgery or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants, Licensure by the State of California. Certified to perform Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
